  • Nice dinner...

Dinner out was great, even managed to avoid chocolate that I have given up for Lent!  Well done to me!

  • Birthday weekend ...

Okay so my birthday is on Monday but I have lots of boring things planned for then so I am having a birthday weekend instead.

This started on Friday lunch time with lunch at one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh.  This was a wonderful hour and half away from the office.  By the time I got back my manger was on the prowl but had been headed off by my friend, not sure what she told him but it seemed to do the trick!  I put in lots of extra hours all the time so they could not really say anything!

Then came home and got an early birthday card from the husband who seemed to have embraced the birthday weekend idea.

Today we have been out going to a really nice garden centre and had lunch there.  Tonight we are off to our local French restaurant for what is bound to be a lovely dinner, the food is always very good and the wine is bring your own, so we will take a nice bottle.

Puss is doing well; she has now decided she would rather like to go out and tells us her wishes all the time.  So far we have not let her out, but I feel our resolve is weakening and she may be allowed out tomorrow.

  • Wrapped around your paw..

So Puss is making the most of things, but would you expect anything else.

Last night she was being hand fed chicken at regular intervals, every time I put the chicken in her bowl she just looked up and gave big saucer, probably still drug induced, pussycat eyes begging for it to be taken out of the bowl and fed by hand.  This was duly done a number of times.  By the end of the evening she had just about managed to eat a while chicken breast and was ready for bed.

She had obviously been working on a plan for her sleeping arrangements and working on my husband.  He told me that he felt she should be allowed to sleep with us, so that she did not feel the need to try and use all her energy beating down the kitchen door, which is what she normally does overnight.  In the face of big saucer pussycat eyes and the husband putting on a combined front, what could I do but allow the cat to come to bed.  She spent most of the night either steeling the cover from me... not quite sure how a cat manages that but she does... or sitting on my chest which all means I had something of a lack of sleep.  Regardless of any united front, back to the kitchen tonight!

The Wii fit program continues with my husband being rewarded for his efforts with a 2lb weight loss, this is really good as I hope it will spur him to keep going.

I was also the recipient of a very nice kiss last night so things are good.

In the garden my seeds have started to show after only a few days, but need to get lots more in.  In my front garden I have several Iris in flower which is very nice to see.  Hope to get out in the garden this weekend.

It is my birthday on Monday, which came as something of a shock to my husband, in all fairness it came as a shock to me aswell when a friend mentioned it.  It seems to have crept up on both of us and his plans for present shopping have not quite come together.   I think he feels he is running out of time, I have told him not to worry but I know he feels bad.  I am off for an early birthday lunch today, but need to remember no chocolate as I gave that up for Lent.

  • Sleepy Puss

:) Puss is home from the vet and very tired.  She has a big shaved patch on her back but seems okay.  Currently she is not talking to me!  Not that I blame her.

  • Poor puss

Puss has gone to the vets today and is spending the day with them, I am keeping my finders crossed that all goes well and I can go and pick her up this afternoon.

My husband still is not better but he is getting there.  He seems to be feeling a bit more with it and is doing more.  We have purchased a Wii fit at the weekend and are both making the effort to use it and try and be healthier.  It is really quite funny standing in one spot and doing all sort of different exercise.  I was happily doing this last night when I realised the curtains where open and the neighbours would be able to see what I was up to.  I quickly shut the curtains!

Spring is fast approaching and I need to start thinking about what I am going to do in the garden this year.  I have started off a few seeds in my propagator but need to make a list of all the things I need to do; this can be a job for later this afternoon!

Right now I am going to keep busy and try not to worry about puss!

  • Tonsillitis

My husband has been unwell for some weeks and has had bacterial tonsillitis.  He has been to the doctor several times but it still has not gone.  He is now starting to feel very down as he just feels constantly under the weather and just unwell.   I feel sorry for him and want him to be better but just do not know what to do to help.  I think he is going to have to end up going back to the doctor this week.

The side effect of the tonsillitis is that we no longer kiss, not really even a peck on the cheek, I am sure this is just a temporary thing but it does have me a bit worried.  I hope that once he is feeling better everything gets back to normal.. what ever that is!
