  • In the garden today...

I have spent most of the afternoon in the garden and keeping on top of the dead heading and weeding.  The plants are recovering well from the recent slug attacks and most are back in flower.  Some of the plants I grew, such as the Swan River daisy plants are gone and they will not recover, I will need to remember not to bother to grow them next year.  I have also been planting out the ones I got at the garden centre last week.  Even the green fly seems a bit more under control and there seems to be less of them around.

We sat and had a beer and a chat with our neighbour which was very sociable and relaxing.  The husband did a BBQ for our dinner and we sat out on the deck.  It did start to rain and puss was unimpressed with getting wet but it passed very quickly and we were able to stay out.  It was a very nice way to end the day.

Here are a few pics of my flower which seem to be doing very well.

  • Lighthouse keeper

This is the lighthouse at South Stack Island in Wales.  We had a nice day there and went for a walk around the lighthouse.  They also have a few puffins and lots of other birds and we played spot the puffin for ages.  I did take a few pics and there is a rather bad one of a puffin but I have included it just to show that we did see them.

  • National Botanic Garden of Wales

As part of our holiday in Wales we went here, it was made all the better because we got in free because we were members of Edinburgh Botanic gardens.  A really nice place to go and spend some time with lots to do and see.

flower1IMG_4663crobinThere is a tea shop in the glasshouse where we stopped for lunch.  A robin and several sparrows hanging around asking for food.  The cheeky robin came and sat on the arm of the chair next to us and just watched us eat.  Shame it was not a traditional spade but I liked the photo.
