To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do...
Okay it is not what we like to do and it is not a mine, but what we did for many hours today. We dug down quite a bit in our new veg bed and out came more and more stones. All sizes and shapes. I could not get a pick-axe, so got a sledge hammer instead and a little hand pick instead. The husband has been very good at using them. We worked together for hours and got... well about a third of the area done. 
At some point we also need to get rid of the grass we took up and all the stones we have dug out. A few trips to the dump I think.
It does not look much but here is the hole we are currently working on, we have done the bit to the left and the growing pile of stones.
