  • That is going to cost.

This afternoon, I was sorting some bits out in the kitchen when I heard a loud bang from the garage.  I knew hubs was out there doing 'stuff', so just thought he had dropped something.  What I did not realise, was that it was his motor bike that he dropped. He had been taking it off the side stand to put on the main stand and his foot slipped and it went over.  He managed to take some of the weight to break its fall, but there are a few bits that need to be replaced.  He is fine, which is the main thing, the bike can be fixed.

I have been out this evening, with my neighbour and some of her friends.  We had an early dinner, a glass of wine and a catch up.  I am now back home to wrap the last few presents I got yesterday and then off to bed as we get up early for work.

  • Clear and crisp

A very cold night and a hard frost today.  The garden is busy with birds looking for something to eat.  Most of the feeder are full but going down quickly.  I have recently invested in some squirrel proof feeders, only to find out that the squirrel can still get inside and eat the food.

A single wood pigeon is sitting in the garden.  It seems his mate was got by the local Sparrow Hawk, not so nice for the pigeon, but he would have made a good meal!  My neighbour saw it all and said it was rather distressing, the Sparrow Hawk had the pigeon on her path but he did move off  with his catch before long.

A day of house work and then an evening out for me today.

  • Snow is falling...

.. well the weather man said it should be, but no new white stuff here.  Maybe I have spoken to soon.

I am feeling quite organised for Christmas, this is helped as I do not have to cook.  We will be going to visit family on Christmas-eve and we will be back after Boxing Day.  The puss has to go and stay in the cattery while we are away.  I have not told her this yet but she is not going to be impressed.

I have not been out in the garden at all recently.  The summer bedding plants are all dead and really need to be cleared away.  I need to get it done or I will not be able to see the spring bulbs when they come. Currently the ground is covered in snow so not something I will be doing today.

I am off to M&S this morning for a few last bits, not sure what our afternoon plans will be, I might just be catching up with house work and study.
